Siri task capture is easier to find. The Briefing now shows you how to use it, and Siri suggests it after you complete a task. Say "Hey Siri, Penlog a task" and it lands on today's page.

Capture a task by voice. Just say 'Hey Siri, Penlog a task', tell it what you need to do, and it lands on today's page as a real task that syncs to your connected tools. It works from the lock screen and even while you're offline. This release also fixes calendar events that did not always appear on the daily page.

Connecting Penlog to Claude or ChatGPT is much easier to find. Settings now leads with Connected Apps, which shows the server address to paste into your assistant and links to step-by-step instructions for each one. There is no token to copy and no setup file to edit.
If you do create an API token for a command-line tool, that screen now tells you where to send it instead of leaving you with a key and nowhere to put it.

Choosing a plan is simpler. Monthly is now selected by default on the upgrade screen, with the yearly plan one tap below it. Both plans still start with the same 14-day free trial, and nothing else about pricing has changed.

Penlog is now listed on the App Store as Penlog: AI Handwriting Journal.
Nothing in the app changed in this release. Two-way Notion sync, calendar import, and the MCP server all work exactly as they did before. You may notice the new name in the Updates tab and in your purchase history.

This release is mostly about the first few minutes with Penlog.
The first page now asks you to write one thing you need to do, and says what happens next. A task you write carries forward onto the next day's page until you cross it off. That has always worked, but nothing told you about it, so most people only found out by coming back the next day.
The summary Penlog shows after it reads your page names the same thing now, instead of describing a connector you might not be using.

Handwriting now stays sharp at every zoom level. The canvas used to magnify your ink rather than redraw it, so strokes softened as you zoomed in. Penlog now redraws them at the size you are actually viewing.
The infinite canvas was rebuilt around that change. Zooming and scrolling are smoother, the page no longer jumps while you write, and typed content stays locked to your handwriting while you pinch.
Zooming out now keeps the page readable instead of shrinking it to a sliver. Double tap to move between a comfortable writing size and the whole page.
This release also fixes a rare freeze that could close Penlog while it was in the background.

This version of Penlog: Handwriting to Notion is a fix release.
The tool palette now stays with the page you are on. Before, it could sync to a different page, so the palette showed a pen while the Pencil kept erasing.
The infinite canvas no longer glitches or jumps while you write, and exported pages now carry their date.
Cancellation instructions on the subscription screen are clearer, and seeded tasks now retry if a pull is interrupted.

Also in this release, a clearer App Store listing that finally explains the part people kept asking about. A task you write by hand becomes a real task in Notion, and crossing it off with your Pencil completes it there too.

Tap the sync button on any page and Penlog now transcribes your handwriting and pulls out your tasks — right inside the app. Your whole journal becomes clean, structured text your AI agents can read (via MCP) and that syncs to Notion.
